St. Louis Prostitution

Following is from a 2013 email from student [JC]:

I was reading the Riverfront Times earlier and saw an article that brought up the issue of prostitution in St. Louis. A resident in Jeffrey Boyd’s district proposed the idea of legalizing brothels to regulate prostitutes and help ensure their safety. It’s an interesting article, something that would never go through and I don’t think it would solve any of the underlying issues that lead women to get to that point, but it got people thinking about the services provided to residents and how to deal with an issue that is often ignored.
